Service state
Backend unavailable or under maintenance.
This page exists for the cases where the main dashboard should stop pretending it can
provide a truthful live picture. If the backend is unreachable or unhealthy, live map
refresh, freshness checks, ranking, and some detail fetches can be materially wrong.
Honest state matters more than keeping the map interactive. If the request path is down,
the correct product behavior is to block live analysis rather than render stale certainty.
What is impaired
Live intelligence functions
When the backend is unavailable or unhealthy, the dashboard can no longer guarantee
current event ingestion, truthful freshness labels, convergence ranking, or complete
detail fetches from the API.
Scheduled layers such as FAA restricted airspace can also drift from their last
confirmed fetch, which means visible geometry may be older than the analyst expects.
What to do
Operator actions
- Retry the main dashboard after a short delay.
- Use the guide and about pages if you only need platform context.
- Treat any previously cached map state as reference only, not live truth.
- Check deployment health and data refresh jobs before trusting resumed output.
Reference-data truth
FAA registry freshness
FAA registry age is tracked in backend health because aircraft popup enrichment can
outlive the current request-path outage. If the registry is stale, missing, or due for
refresh, treat ownership and registrant detail as reference context rather than current
operational truth.
Live freshness details load only when the health route is reachable. This page still
remains truthful if the backend is fully offline.
What remains available
Public static documentation remains reachable even when live service is impaired.
